Poetry, Week 37: YK Kim

Painting

Shards of moon
litter the silent water.
Each upon each,
chips of light fleck
the night. In the distance,
a small boat
softly rocks, its hard edge
caressed with thin coats of water,
dark and clean.
Beside it the lilypad
flirts with tomorrow.

Dispensation

Dark rain on water.
The shadow of a boat
interrupted by disappearing
circles. And the swan,
tensing its neck.
