Poetry, Week 52: Meredith MacLeod Davidson
Swing Justice
(this is a calculation)
I am this:
your Hot Ticket Babe:
something tangible pressed
against the pixels “begging for”
C E N S O R S H I P, a: # or
1between the digits2th demands
And you are:
hmm, melee or messy spectacle
who’s even standing
the Christ figure cast
it’s just a job interview
but lo, our savior
So they are:
lensed henchmen crouched with blood
shot eyes through tubes
tied, and tangled, legs cramping for that
one-perfect
history feeds in multitudes, like fish
What’s left is:
I’ll say! shout out to everyone muddling through
all this really triggering b u l l s h i t
and there will be
some <333s, or little clapping hands but this
still tastes (somewhat) better than boys will
be> b o > y >>>s>?
