Amalfi-Piers | 2013

Artist Statement: This shot jumped out at me during a stroll along a cliff top walk on the sleeping Amalfi Coast. The shot was all about geometry to me…the shape of the tide coming in, arcing down through the image, against the angular double pier. The lines of the wood, fencing and ladders with the soft shadows created by the sun breaking through the cloud, weighted beautifully by the lone rock and the vivid yellow, square platform. The whole sight encapsulated by the peaceful emotion of the tide.
