What happens in wreckage when teeth
have been so changed
from original dental record
via orthodontia or otherwise?
The unfamiliar vellum of an x-ray
held against illumination,
how red and green together will
give blackness.

A red vessel is red
because it reflects its own color. When we say
“this bowl is red” we mean
it is not itself.
