Artist Statement: 11 Pieces of Fried Chicken considers Southern identity and the symbolism of its culture and heritage.

Shaun H Kelly is from the South, specifically the state of Mississippi. He believes our salvation is in community and that we are all supposed to live with one another, not alone. Shaun’s work has been featured in Oxford American, South by Southeast Magazine, Southern Glossary, Der Greif, and at Photo LA. He is the founder and editor of Strant, a print and online publication that he began while living in California. Strant fosters dialogue and collaboration through photography. Shaun is currently living in Oxford, MS where it seems his most honest pursuit is as a photographer, writer, and educator.
