Julia Soboleva is a Latvian-born illustrator currently living in Stoke-on-Trent, UK. She graduated from Southampton Solent University with the degree in Illustration. For her final major project, she has been awarded Paul Osborne Drawing Prize. She has been an Artist in Residence at Solent Showcase Gallery and has been exhibited her work in numerous group exhibits in the UK. Julia has been commissioned by British Film Institute to create several book cover designs, which have been recently published. In addition to her freelance practice, Julia is working as a Visiting Lecturer in Interactive Media and Design at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield, UK. Her practice ranges from digital collage to various handmade processes. Her heart lies somewhere between her art and her dreams, and she is often described as “proper mint”.
