Vegi Food | Acrylic on Canvas | 48" x 37" | 2013

5 Bucks | Oil on Panel | 40" x 60" | 2014

Artist Statement: Vegi Food and 5 Bucks are from a group of paintings informed by the concept of liminality, which is defined as occupying a position at, or on both sides of a boundary or threshold. The emotional resonance generated from the residue of memory and time deepens the experience of the mundane. Rituals of daily life are set against symbols of contemporary American culture such as commercialism and religious belief.
