JJ Cromer is a visual artist from Virginia. He and his partner, Mary, live on a farm in central Appalachia. His work is in numerous private and public collections, including the American Visionary Art Museum, the Intuit Center of Outsider Art, the High Museum of Art, and the Taubman Museum of Art. His work has been featured in Raw Vision (Fall ’10), and a forthcoming volume of the New Encyclopedia of Southern Culture (UNC Press) will include an entry on him and his drawings. In September 2013 a major show of outsider art at the Halle Saint Pierre, Paris, will feature his work.
